Meta to Introduce Ads on Threads in Early 2025
Meta Platforms (META) plans to introduce advertisements on Threads, its text-based social platform, starting in early 2025, according to a report by The Information citing sources familiar with the matter.
Leading the effort which is still in its early phases is a team inside Instagram's advertising division. One source said Threads is anticipated to let a small number of marketers produce and post material on the platform in January.
Threads had about 275 million monthly active users as late as October. During the company's third-quarter earnings call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg observed that Threads daily sign-up count was about one million, each day.
Apart from increasing advertising on Threads, Meta is heavily investing in artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR). Recently, the business debuted "Orion," a sophisticated prototype of holographic AR glasses weighing less than 100 grams and with a wrist-based neural interface. Although the release date is yet unknown, this advancement emphasizes Meta's dedication to next computing systems.
To cut its dependence on outside search sources, Meta is also creating an artificial intelligence-based search engine. Across Meta's platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook this new search engine seeks to provide consumers conversational comments to current events.
These projects mirror Meta's larger approach to diversify its products and include cutting-edge technologies into its line of business.
